'Padmaavat' : The Uprights and Downfall

The epic trending gossip in Bollywood remains centred towards the Sanjay Leela Bhansali Production. Before the release, this movie ha encountered enough controversies  to secure its place in the headlines.Looking closely as a movie, different people have different views.A fiction just deals with the imaginary characters but the image of a specific religion or caste should not influenced by a fiction.
   we will discuss both the aspects of the movie. Before coming on the movie, Let's have a look on the History. The Zamia Nizamia Islamic Seminary seminary has a nearly-200-year-old copy of Malik Muhammad Jayasi's 16th century epic poem , on which the film is based.

The records at jamia show that the book was copied 1239 Hijiri corresponding to 1823 CE. 

In the poem, Sufi the Sufi Jayasi speaks of Padmavati, princess of Sinhaldweep in Sri Lanka, and Ratansen, the King of Chittor. After hearing of the princess’ beauty from Hiraman, a parrot, the king, who is already married to Nagmati, embarks on an arduous journey to Sinhaldweep, and later marries the princess.

But there is a twist: Devpal, another king, too, has heard of Padmavati’s unmatched beauty and covets her. A battle ensues between the two kings. Meanwhile, a banished courtier seeking vengeance tells Alauddin Khilji of Padmavati and he marches to Chittor. But upon his arrival, he sees that the princess has committed jauhar.

Now coming to the film, it had previously tried to depict the abruptic scene of Allaudin Khilji with Padmavati which certainly misspells the history hurting the Religious feelings of some communities which led to the upcoming violence and bans.

        The movie  as seen from fiction point of view remains innocent but if seen along with the mirror of history remains responsible for the ongoing riots or violences.

  Also the movie has been banned by Malaysia Censor board on account of the reason that the film touches "sensitivities of islam".
